Steep Slope Roofing as it is commonly refereed to by professional roofing trades, is
defined as "Roof surfaces that are sloped 2" in 12" and steeper". These types of roofs are
normally associated with residential style housing, however, some commercial structures
may in fact be constructed with steep slope roofs. The materials for steep slope roofs
regardless of use will most commonly be Asphalt shingles, wood shingles, wood shakes,
slate shingles, tile or standing seam metal.
